Remember the movie Roxanne, with Steve Martin? He plays a guy who has an enormous nose but is also witty and eloquent — he always knows just what to say. In fact, he’s so good with words that he helps a friend woo a beautiful woman played by Daryl Hannah, by ghostwriting love letters for him and even hiding in the bushes beneath her window to feed him romantic lines.
It works. (Actually, it works so well that she falls in love with Steve Martin’s character, but that’s beside the point.) And that is no surprise. Because people listen to the right words.
You’ve got customers you want to impress — they’re your Daryl Hannah, if you will. I’ve got a pretty big nose and a talent for writing compelling, effective sales copy. Plus, I won’t steal the beautiful woman away from you at the end (my wife would kill me), although I will happily hide in the bushes and feed you lines, for the right fee.
So don’t speak for yourself. Let me come up with the words for you. I’m honest, I work hard, my rates are reasonable, and I produce copy your customers will actually read. (If you’ve gotten this far, I think that speaks for itself.) I’m fun to work with, too. (Already done the writing? You can also just have me proofread it.)
